Mircette is hugely use oral contraceptive all over the world. This medication is made up of two syhthetic derivatives of female hormones namely desogestrel and Ethinyl estradiol.
Generic Mircette should not be used as a protection of STDs or AIDS. It is only used for termibation or as contraception. Store this medication at room temperature. It should be kept from the reach of children and domestic. The medication should be protected from heat, light and moisture.
Mirecette works by stopping the process of release of the eggs from ovary which is called ovulation. It prevents the entry of sperm into the uterus by thickening of the uterine line and cervical mucus.
This medication is available in tablet form and should be taken with a glass of water. Dosage should always be decided by your doctor only.
Generic Mircette is used for terminating the unplanned or unwanted pregnancy. It is also prescribed in abnormal menstrual bleeding. MMirette is also effective to prevent ovarian cyst.
You should be always alert while using any kind of contraceptive medication because they may cause side effects in many females. Some of the side effects of generic Mircette are:

Drug interactions of Mircette:

Dosage of Mircette:
Mircette should be taken by oral intake. Dosage and duration should be decided by your doctor always. The tablets of Mircette are marked as day1, day2 etc, so it is very easy to remember to take the medication timely. Do not delay an interval beyond 24 hours.
The white pills of Mircette should be taken for 21 days after menstruation cycle. After that, the greenish yellow tablets are taken for days.
After the above course, another set of tablets should be started for 28 days cycle.
Take your missed dose as soon as you remember about. If you miss 2 white tablets in first or second week, then take 2 tablets on the very next day. After that you can continue as the regular dose with the white tablets.
In case of over dose, you should contact your doctor immediately, because overdose ma cause some serious side effects like abnormal vaginal bleeding, vomiting or nausea.
Before taking any dose Mircette, you should remember some steps to avoid unwanted complications, such as:
- Confirm whether you are allergic to this medication or not. If you are allergic to any ingredient of this medication, do not take it.
- Tell your doctor if you have any history of high blood pressure, blood disorder, high cholesterol level, breast cancer, diabetes, depression, or gall bladder problem.
- Always use sunscreen and sunglass before going out because it can cause darkness or dark spot on your skin.
- If you are breast-feeding, consult with your doctor before using this drug.
