What essential facts do I should know while taking Seasonique?

  • Regular Cigarette smokers are greater risks of having serious cardiovascular side effects such as blood clots, stroke, and heart attack while taking any birth control pills. And, this risk multiplies with increasing age, people who are >35 years old are at greater health risks.

  • Birth control pills such as Seasonique use also increases risks of other health issues including heart attack, clotting disorders, stroke, liver tumors, etc. And, patients with history of high blood pressure and cholesterol level, diabetes and clotting disorders can get these health issues easily. Consult your doctor before starting any birth control pills. You may be referred to have regular monitoring of cholesterol levels.

  • Before use you also know that Seasonique will not provide any protection against HIV infection (AIDS) and other sexually transmitted diseases. You have to take other precautions to avoid such sexual diseases.

  • Be prepared to face breakthrough bleeding or spotting during taking treatment with birth control pills, especially in the first few months of starting it.   • if you have another intrauterine device (IUD) in place.
