Yasmin tablets are a type of hormonal contraception. It comes in the form of pills and known as combined oral contraceptive pill. It comes with two active ingredients namely, ethinylestradiol and drospirenone. Basically, these are manmade versions of the naturally occurring female sex hormones, oestrogen and progesterone. It works by preventing ovulation (the release of an egg from an ovary) and by causing changes in the mucus of the cervix (that makes it difficult for sperm to penetrate into the uterus) and in the endometrium (that make it difficult for an egg to implant).
